Teaching Aids             :  Slide shows, card manila, whiteboard markers, worksheet.

Recall back 3-D Shapes had learnt.
1) Teacher shows some
     things using slides. 
     (powerpoint    
      presentation)
2) Teacher asks questions.

a) What are the things can
     you see in the slide?
b) What you can conclude
     from this slide?

3) Teacher introduce  today’s
     lesson.

1) Pupils say the
     name of the things.
2) Pupils answer the
     questions.

Step 1
(10 minutes)
Read the volume of cube and cuboid.
1) Teachers  shows the     
3-D shapes that they   
 had learnt before.
2) Pupils say aloud their
     names.
3) Then, teacher shows
     the cube and cuboid
     and explains the parts.

ex: 


4) After that, teacher explains
the way to calculate
volume of cube and
cuboid.

5) Shows more examples
find volume on
whiteboard.
6) Call pupils randomly to do
     the calculation on the
     board.
7) Check pupils’ answers.

1) Pupils say the name of
     the shapes.
2) Pupils find the volume.  

- cm is used for     volume.
- The sides of the    square are same.

Length x Breadth x Height = volume


Step 2
( 10 minutes)
Group Work
( Fine the volume of cube and cuboid)
1) Pupils are divided into
four groups.
2) Pupils are given time to
find the volume of cubes
and cuboids given.
3) Representative from each
group will come out and
write their answers on the
board.
4) Teacher checks pupils’
     answers.
1) Pupils find the volume
of cubes and cuboids
given.
2) Group representative
     present their answer on
     the board.

(5  minutes)


Worksheet
1) The teacher distributes
     worksheet to pupils. 
2) Teacher gives instruction.
3) Pupils complete the
    worksheet.
4) Check pupils’ answers.

1) Pupils will complete the
     task given.
